Evelyn A. Halas

  Evelyn A. Halas, age 76, of Northville, passed away on July 1, 2017. She was born on August 29, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Leonard and Tillie (nee Zablonski) Nadolsky. She graduated from Girls Catholic Central in Detroit; Class of 1958. Evelyn worked as the General Manager at Northville Downs for 20 years, retiring in 2008. She worked in the food service industry at various racetracks for over 40 years.   Evelyn enjoyed going to the casino and playing the slot machines. She was a great listener and gave sound advice. She was very outgoing and loved being with friends. Evelyn always found the good in people and believed in them. She was an excellent caregiver. Evelyn was a wise woman, an amazing mother, a loving grandmother, and an unconditional friend.   Evelyn in survived by her children, Debbie (Joy Clark) Halas, Jeff (Stephanie Long) Halas, and Douglas (Dawn) Halas; her grandson Austin Halas; her brother Ronald (Maryann) Nadolsky; her sister Geraldine Fusco; and her dear friend Phil Cusmano. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Gary and Leonard “Junior.”   She was laid to rest at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
