William M. Howe

William Michael Howe, age 66, of Northville, passed away suddenly on July 25, 2017. He was born January 28, 1951 in Munich, Germany; son of William and Lily (nee Bratosoviene) Howe. Bill graduated from the University of Detroit in 1972 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Psychology. He played collegiate baseball for the University of Detroit and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Bill was united in marriage to Karen L. Carter on April 20, 1990; devoted to each other for 27 years. Bill loved coaching baseball; he coached his son’s team for the past 7 years. His most recent accolade was this past season when the Northville Mustang Travel Team was 1st place in the league. Bill enjoyed golfing with the “Crawdads”, a group of his friends from high school and college. He was always working on home improvement projects for family and friends. He was a very talented woodworker who created a variety of items from dollhouses for his daughters to cutting boards for his friends. Bill was known as “Mr. Fix It”. He not only fixed objects he fixed people through listening, conversations, and thoughtful advice. He was an animal lover and enjoyed his home filled with dogs and cats. Bill was charismatic, kind, patient, fun-loving, generous, and unconditionally loving. Bill was a sales executive with ProStep most recently and formerly with Sun Microsystems, Tandem Computers, and HP.  He is survived by his loving wife Karen; his children, Carrie (Hamza Begdouri) Howe, Carla (Juan D’Brot) Howe, Katie Howe, and Willie Howe; his sisters Shirley (Tom) Street and Lolly (Al) Polenz; and his grandchildren Noor Begdouri and Manny D’Brot who called him Boompa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kristina Pfeiffer. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 from 4pm until 6pm with a memorial service beginning at 6pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Pastor Justin Powell with Fieldstone Church will officiate the service. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Family of William M. Howe, c/o Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville, MI 48167 (checks should be made payable to Karen Howe).
