Jeanne Ambler, whose family is in its 8th generation in Northville, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at her daughters home in Florida. She was 95. Jeanne was a life member of the Northville Mothers Club, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Northville, and a longtime member of Lakelands Country Club. Jeanne played in a bridge club for many years and enjoyed playing cards with her family. One of her passions was painting in watercolors. Several of her pieces are proudly displayed in the homes of her family members. She was also an avid golfer, baker, and seamstress. Jeanne attended Northville High School and was the captain of the girls basketball team in 1939. There she met her high school sweetheart, Richard Ambler, who she was married to for 67 years before his death in 2012. Jeanne leaves behind three children, Diane (Bob) Smeed Lithia, Florida, who she lived near in Florida for the past 3 years, Nancy (Jim) Worthley of Carmel, Indiana, and Rick (Kathy) Ambler of Northville; her grandchildren, Dr. Robert (Reina) Smeed, Mark (Tara) Worthley, Metta (Dustin) Dwyer, Matthew (Allie) Worthley, Marie (Brian) Fitzgerald, Sarah (Ryan) Figurski, and Rachael Ambler; and her great grandchildren, Irene Dwyer, Nick Worthley, William Duke Fitzgerald, Felix Dwyer, John Fitzgerald, Dottie Dwyer, and Jillian Worthley. Visitation will be held Monday, September 25, 2017 from 10am until 11am with the memorial service beginning at 11am at the First United Methodist Church, 777 West Eight Mile, Northville. Rev. Doug Vernon will officiate the service.
