Georgia Ruth Bolyard, age 91, a longtime resident of Redford Township, passed away September 16, 2017. She was born February 26, 1926 in Roanoke, Virginia; daughter of Mollie Reba Keesee. She graduated from high school in Roanoke, Virginia and then attended business school in Washington D.C. She was united in marriage to Gerald L. Bolyard on August 12, 1961; they spent over 23 years devoted to each other until his death on July 30, 1985. Ruth was a dedicated homemaker; she took wonderful care of her family. She also worked for an agency that placed her with families who needed childcare; she adored her job and loved taking care of newborns. Ruth grew beautiful flower gardens and liked vegetable gardening as well. She was an avid reader; her favorite genres were mysteries and poetry. She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles every night, keeping up with friends and family on Facebook, and expanding her knowledge. Ruth cherished family photos and made scrapbooks for many members of her family. She liked swimming and spending time at the beach. For many years she faithfully attended a weekly bible study; she was fascinated with the differences between religions and the history of the religions. Ruth cherished old tunes she was taught by her grandmother and had a song for everything. Ruth was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by her children, Gail (Mike) Conner, Debbie (Dennis) Ernst, Michael (Janis) Bolyard, Judy Pham, and Les (Laura) Bolyard; her step-children, Leroy (Marga) Dubé, Mary (Wayne) Ulrich, and Mildred (Ted) O’Melle; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, her first husband Al Dubé, her second husband John Herman, her third husband Gerald Bolyard, her stepson David Dubé, and her stepdaughter Betty Bondie. Visitation will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 from 2pm until 5pm with a funeral service beginning at 5pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Georgia will be laid to rest on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 10am at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
