Richard A. White Richard A. White, age 56, of Pinckney, passed away on October 22, 2017. He was born January 27, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Jon and Margaret (nee Sabo) White. He graduated from South Lyon High School; Class of 1979. He continued his education with a Bachelor’s Degree, followed by a Master’s Degree in Engineering Technology and Education from Eastern Michigan University. Richard taught Electronics and Robotics for Plymouth Canton Schools, Oakland Technical School and ITT Technical School throughout the years. Most recently he worked as a training specialist for new hire engineers at Yazaki North America in Canton. Richard was a member of Shalom Lutheran Church in Pinckney. He had a strong faith and was very involved in the church. He played guitar in the church band and helped with the sound during services. Richard was a true outdoorsman; he liked guns and shooting and was an avid hunter, especially bow and squirrel hunting. He enjoyed fishing and fly fishing Up North where he used flies he tied himself. He also enjoyed kayaking. Richard loved music; he liked going to concerts and could often be found strumming a guitar. He handcrafted many guitars and banjos throughout the years. He is survived by his loving sons, Austin White and Gavin White; his mother, Margaret L. White; his brothers, Jon White and Scott (Cheryl) White. He was also loved by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Jon H. White and his brother David White. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with a time of gathering beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Shalom Lutheran Church, 1740 E. M-36, Pinckney. Pastor Kurt Hutchens will officiate the service. Mr. White was laid to rest at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy.
