Ruth G. Moroski, age 97, of Livonia, passed away on October 10, 2017. She was born September 30, 1920 in Iroquois Falls, Ontario, Canada; daughter of Joseph F. and Grace B. (nee Hazen) Gamble. She was united in marriage to Albert J. Moroski on August 3, 1946; married for over 66 years until his death on April 18, 2013. Ruth spent her childhood years and began her family in Detroit; she moved to Livonia in 1976 with her husband. She was a great mother and homemaker. Ruth enjoyed knitting and shared her talents with family and friends. Her afghans can be found in many loved ones homes. Ruth was an avid card player. She loved playing Pinochle, and just about any other card game, for hours with friends and family. Every summer beginning in the 1960's, Ruth and her family spent part of their summer in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, in a cottage along the St. Mary's River. This tradition continued with her grandchildren, with wonderful memories of cherished times spent with family and close friends. She was known as the "Candy Lady" for she came well-stocked with goodies every year for all the children. Ruth was a very caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Ruth is survived by her daughter Barbara (the late Daniel Browne) Moroski-Browne; her grandchildren, Adrienne (Aneil) Kersey, D. Garrett Browne, and Lauren Browne; and her great-grandsons, Austin, Aiden, and Ashtyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son-in-law, her sisters (Helen McKinnon, Margaret Wortz, Violet Hennes, Mildred McArdell, Florence Purcell, Grace Macy, Hazel Perov and Pearl Beaton) and many dear friends. A memorial service will be held on November 2 at 11am, at the Glen Eden Memorial Park, 35667 West 8 Mile Road, Livonia.
