Robert R. “Bubba” Shaw, age 86, of Farmington Hills, formerly longtime resident of Northville passed away on October 31, 2017. He was born on September 5, 1931 in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada; son of Albert and Sadie (McPhail) Shaw. Robert proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Pauline Rodgers on June 19, 1965; they spent 52 years devoted to one another as husband and wife. Robert was co-owner of Shaw Manufacturing in Inkster for many years. He was an avid sports fan, particularly Michigan State college sports. Bubba loved to play poker; he cultivated many lasting friendships and great memories at the poker table, especially at Bay Mills Casino in Brimley, Michigan where he was made to feel like family. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling. He travelled extensively, visiting places like the Caribbean and Africa. He took 47 trips to Las Vegas, but one of his favorite places to vacation was Panama. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Pauline; his daughter Christy Shaw Lemanski; his daughter-in-law Deborah Shaw; his grandchildren, Michael Robert Lemanski, Joseph Rodgers Lemanski, Andrew David Lemanski, and Megan Lucas; and his great grandchildren, Mason and Maximus. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Scott Shaw; his parents; his sister, Joan Shaw Brant; and his brothers, Larry Shaw and Ted Shaw. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale and ComForCare, where Robert lived for the last 2 1/2 years. They were not only amazing caregivers, they also became friends. Robert’s family truly appreciates all that they did for him. A special "thank you" to Lorri, Lisa and Derrell!!!! Private family services will be held.
