John K. Winters, age 93, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away on November 26, 2017. He was born on October 6, 1924; son of Lee Eugene and Dorothy Jean (nee Kirby) Winters. He proudly served his country in the United Stated Army from June 18, 1943 until his honorable discharge on March 1, 1946. John kept a detailed journal documenting his service and deployment in the Army. After returning to the United States he finished his degree at the University of Michigan and began a career as a Mechanical Engineer with Bower Roller Bearing which later became Federal Mogul. John retired after 40 years. He was united in marriage to Lois M. Wolfe on September 9, 1949; celebrating 68 years of marriage this past September. John was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, the American Legion Post 147, the Farmington Elks Club, and the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers. He was a devout follower of Albert Einstein and loved going to the Opera. John was an exceptional husband and a good provider for his family. He was very dignified and was blessed with a mathematical mind. John was a kind, gentle, and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Lois; his children, Karen (Carl) Stephens, Nancy (Mel) Kruse, and William (Kristi Mansour) Winters; his grandchildren, Peter (Tina) Stephens, Victoria (Jonathan) Pack, Carolyn (David) Murray, Sandra (Alec) Foreman, Sean Winters, Henry Winters, and Kirby Winters; his great grandchildren, Anna, Samuel, Sarah, Austin, Patrick, Lauren, Anwyn, and Catriona; and his great-great grandchild Rowen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lee E. Winters, Jr., and his grandson Curtis Snow. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 2 at 11am with visiting beginning at 10am at Meadowbrook Congregational Church, 21355 Meadowbrook Road, Novi. Rev. Arthur P.
