Lorraine M. Deboutte

Lorraine M. DeBoutte, age 82, lifelong resident of Northville, passed away on February 18, 2018. She was born August 31, 1935 in Northville, Michigan; daughter of Alexander and Johanna (nee Kurkowski) Funke, Sr. Lorraine met Robert J. DeBoutte, Sr. while working as a waitress at Bohls Restaurant in Northville. They were united in marriage on April 26, 1965; she and Robert spent 52 loving years together until his death on October 17, 2017. Lorraine was a devoted homemaker; she took magnificent care of her family. She also worked outside of the home at many local businesses in Northville; including a cashier at the Dime Store, a waitress at Bohls, and at Northville Downs, as well as working on the line at Burroughs in Plymouth. She was a member of VFW Post 4012 Auxiliary, where she was an active volunteer. Lorraine had a wonderful sense of humor; she was always joking around or had a joke to share. Her personality likened her to Lucille Ball with her best friend, Joanne Gearns as Ethel Mertz. Lorraine loved music and dancing, she danced so much with her children in the front room of her home that they cracked the beams. She was very competitive and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and pool. She also enjoyed fishing and adored her dogs. Lorraine was incredibly good hearted, and although she was tough, she was thoughtful and put her heart and soul into everything she did. She loved helping people and gave fantastic advice.  Lorraine is survived by her loving children, Jimmy (Teresa) Wallace, Johnny (Debbie) Wallace, Carol (Jerry) Cronk, and Bobby DeBoutte, Jr.; her brother, George (Mary) Funke; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers Alex Funke, Jim Funke, and Walt Nafranowitz, and her sister Marce Herter. The visitation will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.  Lorraine will be laid to rest next to her husband at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to VFW Post 4012, 438 S.
