Liza Jane Folino

Liza Jane Folino   Liza Jane Folino, age 83, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away on February 22, 2018. She was born August 4, 1934 in Hurst, Kentucky; daughter of Seldon and Maye (nee Childers) Fultz.   Jane was united in marriage to Steve J. Folino on October 11, 1958 and they spent 59 loving years together. Jane worked as a cosmetologist out of her home in Northville, as well as sharing her talents with Whitehall Convalescent Home where she volunteered her time doing residents hair.  For many years, she managed the Belnor Restaurant and later the Old Mill Restaurant both located in Northville.  Jane’s true calling was caring for her family; she was a devoted homemaker and very active in her children and grandchildren’s lives.  She was a quintessential “Sports Mom/Grandma” and was always supportive of everything they did.  Most of her time was spent caring for her family, it was the job she cherished the most. Jane was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Novi.  She was also a member of VFW Post 4012 Ladies Auxiliary and the Plymouth Elks.  She was a champion card player, especially at Rummy and she also liked to play Bunco.  Jane enjoyed day trips to the casino with family and friends; she loved to play the slots.  She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers, her yard was always full of beautiful potted plants and hanging baskets.  Jane was an amazing cook; her traditional Southern cooking including biscuits and gravy, her special mashed potatoes, roast beef, and big breakfasts were family favorites.  Always in fashion and well dressed, her style included sweaters and sweatshirts with sparkly embellishments.  Jane enjoyed having coffee with friends and travelling to visit family around the country.  She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by many family, friends, and neighbors.  Jane is survived by her loving husband, Steve J. Folino; her children, Luigi (Sharon) Folino, Jody Folino, and Diane Jennings; her brothers, Don (Ruthann) Fultz, Norman, Fultz, Paul Meier, and Ken (Jerie Lou) Meier; her grandchildren, Rachele (Michael) Russo, Natalie (Matt) Vander Zanden, Stefano Folino, Lyle Taylor, Anthony (Miranda) Taulbee, Sheldon Taulbee, Kate (Ryan) Timmers, and Amanda (Kraig) Borr; and her great grandchildren, Dominic, Gabriella, Henrick, Liza Jane, Oliver, Aubrie, and one on the way.  She was also loved by many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Lynnda Cederberg and her parents.                     The visitation will be held Monday, February 26, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.  The funeral mass will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., in state beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 Ten Mile Rd., Novi, MI 48374.  Mrs. Folino will be laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to St. James Catholic Church.
