Stanley William Stedman

Stanley William Stedman, age 93, passed away February 28, 2018 in Novi, Michigan. He was born June 11, 1924 in Wyoming, Illinois; son of William and Galdys (nee Robinson) Stedman.  He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. On December 27, 1945 Stan was united in marriage to the love of his life Jeannette Bullington; dedicated to each other for over 72 years.   Stan graduated from Chillicothe High School, Class of 1942. He has lived in Novi since 1976; he was previously of Avon, Ohio and Henry, Illinois. He was a Regional Sales Manager with Chrysler for many years until he retired in 1989. Stan loved to golf and played in numerous golf leagues with his friends and neighbors. Known for his competitive edge on the course, he was very proud of his hole-in-one. Stan was a devoted husband and a loving and supportive father and grandfather.   He is survived by his wife Jeannette Stedman; his children, Stanley (Linda) Stedman, Jr., James (the late Patricia) Stedman, and Karen (Douglas) Trate; his grandchildren, Kevin (Tina) Stedman, David (Sarah) Stedman, Jon Stedman, Tim (Darcy) Stedman, Sarah Stedman, James (Jennifer) Stedman, Jr., Catherine (Jason) Vickers, Dennis (Jill) Trate, and Alan Trate; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Dean Stedman and Robert Stedman.   The visitation will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 from 10am until 11am with a funeral service beginning at 11am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Mr. Stedman will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.   In lieu pf flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to The Gideon's International, PO Box 300424, Waterford, MI 48329.
