June M. Pertile, age 68, of Hartland Township, formerly of Northville, passed away surrounded by family on March 13, 2018. She was born June 1, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of Charles and Doris (nee Bartlett) Thomas. She grew up in Detroit and was a 1968 graduate of Cooley High School; later she received her Associate Degree from Schoolcraft College. June moved to Northville where she was a resident for over 30 years. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Raymond Pertile on January 31, 1969; they were devoted to each other for over 9 years until his death on December 23, 1978.   June owned and operated JP Designs where she created memorable videos of special occasions. She was a dedicated member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howell. June was a published poet and enjoyed reading books by her favorite author Stephen King. She loved to travel; she made several trips to Arizona and found peace and relaxation when visiting Holland, Michigan. June delighted in watching the birds and deer from her window at home and also enjoyed being outside taking care of her yard and gardens. She adored her children and grandchildren, they were the most important aspect of her life. June was a gracious and positive mother, grandmother, and friend. She always had a smile to share.   June is survived by her children, Angela (Andy) Stevers, Jack (Brianne) Pertile, Jason Pertile, and Michael Pertile; her grandchildren, Anthony Pertile, Corinne Pertile, and Nicolas Pertile; and her brother Doug Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Gary Thomas, and her sister Joyce Wright.                     Visitation will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 5pm until 8pm and Friday, March 23, 2018 from 1pm until 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 1pm with visitation beginning at Noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2099 North Hacker Road, Howell. Father Francis George will officiate the mass and she will be laid to rest with her husband at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Southfield.  Following the mass a memorial luncheon will be held from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Chemung Hills Golf Club, 3125 Golf Club Drive, Howell.    Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, 9899 Main Street, Suite 204, Damascus, MD 20872.
