Marion J. Anderson

Marion J. Anderson, age 97, of Brighton, passed away on March 21, 2018. She was born June 4, 1920 in Northville, Michigan; daughter of Roscoe George and Myrtle (nee Ward) Lang. She has lived in Brighton for the past 10 years and was formerly of Punta Gorda, Florida. Marion was united in marriage to James H. Anderson for over 50 years until his death on May 21, 1994. Marion was a very fastidious homemaker; she was devoted to her family and took wonderful care of them. She enjoyed gardening; the flowers flourished under her care and her yard was always well manicured. She was a prolific knitter and also liked quilting. Marion was an avid reader, she read a variety of genres, but murder mysteries were her favorite. In recent years she took up bird watching and had identified all the birds that lived around her home. Marion is survived by her son Richard (Alice) Anderson; her daughter-in-law Louise Anderson; her grandchildren, Steven (Angela) Anderson, Amy (Robert) Abdo, Christopher Anderson, Glenn Anderson, Jeffrey (Rachel) Anderson, Jill Anderson, and Jane (Tony) Speciale; and her great grandchildren, Zachary, Benjamin, Ethan, and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son James H. Anderson, Jr., and her grandson James Epperson.                     Visitation will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 10am until 11am with a funeral service beginning at 11am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Rev. Douglas Vernon from the First United Methodist Church of Northville will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery.
