Violet J. Kaminski

Violet J. Kaminski, age 100, of Northville, formerly of Dearborn Heights, passed away April 25, 2018. She was born on June 23, 1917 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of John and Mary (nee Lipinski) Gurskey. She was united in marriage to Frank C. Kaminski on August 26, 1939; they spent 65 loving years together until his death on September 8, 2004.  Violet and her husband co-owned a laundry mat in Lincoln Park from 1948-1962.  After the business sold, she went to work as a sales clerk for Crowley’s in Dearborn, retiring after many years with the company.  She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Northville.  Violet was an avid reader, one of her favorite authors was Danielle Steele.  She liked to play bingo and watch Turner Classic Movies.  In her younger years, Violet enjoyed bowling with her husband.  More recently she enjoyed the competition of Wii bowling with friends at Independence Village in Plymouth. Violet was a wonderful homemaker and a good cook.  She was proud to have raised her 3 boys to become good men.  She was very devoted to her family and cherished the time they spent together.  Violet is survived by her loving sons, David (Irene) Kaminski, James (Gwen Slater) Kaminski, and Robert (Ellen) Kaminski; her grandchildren, Amanda (Paul) Offer, David Todd (Kathy Yost) Eton, Jeffrey (Kathy) Kaminski, Michelle (Luke Mathews) Kaminski, Jennifer (Charles) Geizhals, Michael Kaminski, Jackie (Matthew) Lorincz, and Susan (Nathaniel) Weid; her great grandchildren, Luc, Dylan, Tristan, Paige, Noelle, Daniel, Evan, Violet, and David; her dear friend, Suzanne Sherb; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her daughter-in-law Deanna Kaminski, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.  Visitation will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 3:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.  A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. instate beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Dr., Northville.  Mrs. Kaminski will be laid to rest next to her husband at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.  In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to Father Solanus Guild, 1780 Mt.
