Mark A. Madar, age 63 of Northville, passed away May 13, 2018. He was born January 19, 1955 in Highland Park, Michigan; son of Albert and Anna (nee Plecenik) Madar. He graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School; Class of 1973. Mark lived in Grosse Pointe Park most of his life until recently moving to Northville in 2015. Being a hard worker aided his successful business, Madar Maintenance. He owned and operated the company since 1986. Mark enjoyed fishing, traveling, and going up north. He was an exceptional cook and created delicious cuisine. Mark was a big fan of the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed spending time on Belle Isle and visiting the St. Bonaventure Monastery. Mark was known for his jovial and humorous personality; he was a wonderful storyteller and amused his family with the “bad dad jokes” that he shared. Mark like reading Clive Cussler novels and watching with the History Channel and National Geographic Channel. He adored his dog Emma; he often spoiled her with homemade dog food, long walks, car rides, and time at the park. Mark was a very kindhearted, wise, and a loving companion, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his beloved partner and companion, Paula; his children, Shianne (Phil) Nocerini, Jeff (Diane) Madar, Brian Madar, and Leslie (Jonathan) Lutton; his siblings, Diana Grebasch, Timothy Madar, Rebecca Madar, and Douglas (Jo Ann) Madar; his grandchildren, Justin Nocerini, Jeffrey Madar, Andrew Madar, Ryan Madar, Nathaniel Madar, Stephan Madar, Jillian Madar, Aidan Madar, Hailey Lammers, Lia Lammers, and Gavin Lutton; and his great grandchild Rowan Madar. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Charles, Nicholas, Stephan, and Arthur; and his sisters, Martha Ghuneim, Susan Ryan, Christine Madar, and Judith Staes. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville. Father Denis Theroux will officiate the service.
