Pamela J. Dietz

August 24, 1946 — June 4, 2018

Pamela J. Dietz, age 71, longtime resident of Redford Township, passed away June 4, 2018. She was born on August 24, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois; daughter of Lloyd and Betty (nee Bigelow) Morgan.  She graduated from Cody High School in Detroit; Class of 1964.   Pam was united in marriage to Richard Dietz on March 22, 1974; they spent 26 loving years together until his death on March 17, 2001.  Pam worked as a Registered Care Aide; she began her career at the Plymouth Center for Human Development, she then moved to Clinton Valley Center in Pontiac, and finally Caro Regional Facility.  She retired in 2008 after 30 years of caring for patients with the State of Michigan.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Southfield Ward. Pam enjoyed shopping, especially on QVC.  She also enjoyed scrapbooking and doing genealogy.  She was an avid reader, she liked romance books and Danielle Steele.  Pam and her husband travelled extensively throughout the West, spending time with family in Arizona, Wyoming, and Kansas.  Her favorite place to visit was Gatlinburg, Tennessee and she loved to spend time collecting sand dollars at the beach in South Carolina.  As a child she and her family would spend summers on Barron Lake in Michigan. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, she absolutely adored them and cherished the time they spent together.  Pam is survived by her loving son, Lloyd Dietz; her step children, Richard (Lisa) Dietz, Randy (Cheryl) Dietz, Kevin (Connie) Dietz, and Rhonda (Tim) Erdmann; her daughter-in-law, Linda Burnett; her sisters, Patti Bowman and Penny (Bob) Eaves; her sister-in-law, Verna (John) Foote; her brother-in-law, Larry (Kathi) Biddle; her grandchildren, Samantha (Keegan), Morgan, Dustin (Nikki), Nikole (Jim), Josh, Caleb, Michael, Randi Lynn, Rob, Cori (Shawn), Ricky, Jessica, Richelle, Kristoffer (Andrea), Karis, and Kortnye (Nick); 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her step son Charles Burnett, and her parents. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at The American Legion, Post 147, 100 W. Dunlap, Northville.  She will be laid to rest at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi, Michigan. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to American Lung Association, Michigan Chapter, 1475 E. 12 Mile Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
