Marie H. Huettner

Marie H. Huettner, age 86, of Plymouth, formerly of South Lyon, passed away June 22, 2018. She was born on December 12, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Charles and Veronica (nee Hofmeyer) Burger.  Marie was united in marriage to Lyle J. Huettner on October 10, 1959; they spent 50 loving years together until his death on July 14, 2010.

Marie attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in South Lyon for several years.  She was a devoted homemaker and took wonderful care of her family.  She was very involved in her children’s lives; volunteering at the school, chaperoning field trips, and helping at the library.  She was also a caretaker for her mother for a number of years.  Marie adored her grandchildren and cherished the time they spent together.

Marie is survived by her loving children, Janet (William) Hollandsworth, Theodore (Denise) Huettner, and Charlie Huettner; and her grandchildren, Bradley, Danielle, and Leah.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Marjorie, her infant son Richard, her parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 25, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.  The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., instate beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 N. Haggerty Rd., Plymouth.  Mrs. Huettner will be laid rest next to her husband at Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills.
