Diego A. Libreros

Diego A. Libreros, age 41, of Northville, passed away July 27, 2018.  He was born June 4, 1977 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, son of Diego Libreros and Ana Bagu.  Diego was united in marriage to Ana M. Medina on August 31, 2002; they spent 15 loving years together as husband and wife.

Diego graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.  He continued his education and earned a Master’s Degree from Detroit Mercy in Engineering Management.  Diego worked as an Engineering Manager for DTE for 17 years.  He was well respected among his colleagues and valued the friendships he had with co-workers.  He was a dedicated employee and recently worked in Puerto Rico to help with power restoration.

Diego enjoyed boating and loved the sea; his traveling often included beach vacations, Hawaii being a favorite.  Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Diego often went back home to visit family and friends and spend time in a place he truly loved to be.  He liked to be outdoors and in the sun whenever he could.  One of his favorite past times was golf; either with his boys or with his buddies.  He was an avid soccer fan and always rooted for Columbia.  Diego had a great sense of humor and was very laid back; he cherished the time he spent with family, friends, and co-workers.  He adored his boys and loved watching them play sports; he never missed a game.  Diego was a wonderful father, husband, and friend; he will by missed by all who knew him.

Diego is survived by his beloved wife; Ana M. Medina; his sons, Diego Libreros and Gustavo Libreros; his sister, Anamary Libreros; his in-laws, Jose Medina and Aura Soler; his sisters-in-law, Maria Teresa Medina and Lourdes Medina; and many nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held Monday, July 30, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.  The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., instate 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville.
