Donald V. Denomme, age 88, of Northville previously of Alpena, passed away July 31, 2018. He was born April 10, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, son of Theophile W. and Eileen (nee Regier) Denomme. Donald served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Barbara J. Clark on February 12, 1955; they spent 52 loving years together as husband and wife until her death on February 20, 2007.
Donald received his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Detroit. He began his career in 1961 with Huron Portland Cement and retired in 1992 after 31 years of dedication. Donald’s true favorite calling in life was golf, a sport he enjoyed with his family. He liked playing pinochle and bridge, he played in 3 bridge clubs in Northville. Donald was a huge Detroit sports fan. When his sons were young he coached their little league baseball teams. He was continuously supportive, understanding, and a great listener. Donald was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his children, Barb (Bob) McKay, Diane (the late Bob) Thompson, Donald (Nancy) Denomme Jr., Thomas (Marianne) Denomme, James (Colleen) Denomme, Brian (Penny) Denomme, and Margaret “the favorite” Denomme; his sisters, Jacqueline Wiedyke, Marian (Kenneth) McDonald, and Phyllis Van Houten; his grandchildren, Rochelle (Ryan) Vendittelli, Ryan (Jessica) Denomme, Hannah Denomme, Kyle (Ellen) Denomme, Hilarie (Collin Mauro) Denomme, Scott Denomme, Michelle (Jimmy) Legault, Sara (Jeff) Amundson, Bailey (Dan) Krouse, Jaynel Denomme-Clark, Madison Denomme, Maxim Denomme, and Grace Denomme; and his great grandchildren, Ethan, Lydia, and Ari. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sister Betty Dziuda.
The visitation will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., instate 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville.
