Judith Marie Shawl

Judith M. Shawl, age 73, of Northville, passed away August 2, 2018. She was born December 2, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Robert and Ruth (nee Schaarschmidt) Shawl. Judith grew up in Livonia and graduated from Clarenceville High School; Class of 1963. Judith has lived in various states over the years including New York, Florida, and California. She was a dedicated caregiver that devoted her life to others.

She was a very spiritual person and was a member of Self-Realization Fellowship in California. Judith liked floral gardening and traveling. She enjoyed walking throughout her neighborhood and through Kensington Metropark. While walking she would meditate and reflect on life. Judith was a wonderful and loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her siblings, Christina (Lane) Ritter, Richard Shawl, Gerald (Rochelle) Shawl, Susan (Mike) DeGeyter, Janice (George) Jeruzal, John Shawl, and Renee Shawl. Judith is also loved by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Shawl, and her sister Mary Shawl.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 24, 2018 from 1pm until 3pm with the Memorial Service beginning at 3pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
